Over the last decade, René has perfected the art of capturing the love she sees on the other side of her camera lens. What makes René’s heart beat a little faster is this: Documenting passionate couples against backdrops that take your breath away, whether it be a pre-wedding shoot in South Africa’s wine country, an elopement in Perth, a vow renewal at the Eiffel Tower, or a wedding in the Scottish Highlands.
Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Denver, Colorado, René has the know-how, travel savvy, and exquisite eye for detail to capture images that will be cherished for generations to come. Her bags are always packed, her passport is close at hand, and she’s ready to board the next flight to your dream destination. Let the adventure begin!
René Tate couples have an unquenchable thirst for adventure and an insatiable desire to explore every inch of this beautiful world. They love to lose themselves in a new city, eat food they can’t pronounce, check “Paris” and “sky dive” off their bucket lists, and have the kind of experiences most people only dream about.
Our couples believe that saying “Will you marry me?” is only the beginning of the adventure of a lifetime, and that intentionally capturing that season of beginnings is valuable beyond measure.
Above all, René Tate couples believe that their legacy and commitment will leave a lasting impact far beyond their stunning wedding day.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Hi, I'm René! So wonderful to meet you.
Born and raised on a farm in small-town Colorado, USA, I always dreamed of a life full of adventure, love, and travel. But I never dreamed I would get this lucky. Every day, I am surrounded by love—meeting couples, discussing their upcoming adventures, listening to their stories of surprise proposals and late-night dances on the beach. It is an honor and privilege to be part of the very best parts of life. And as for travel, let’s just say I’ve fallen head over heels. Israel, Australia, Scotland, Italy, Iceland, Peru, the Caribbean… I’ve traveled to 27 countries and 5 continents and counting.
I have been photographing couples for over 11 years, with over 150 weddings under my belt, and each day is better than the last. This is my passion, my life blood, and a beautiful gift from God.
Today, I live in Scottsdale, Arizona, with my adorably witty husband, John, and beautiful baby girl. I am a University of Colorado graduate (go, Buffs!) and live my life by the words of Jesus Christ: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10, NIV).

A FEW THINGS I LOVE...

Ten years ago, I met a handsome man named John. Four years ago, we tied the knot. We are pretty opposite (black & white, really), but we share a love of In-and-Out burgers and wild adventures. As a bridesmaid said on our wedding, “Here’s to making grey!” It goes without saying, our life is full of surprises.

I seriously love these people. They are my legacy, my story, my past, and my future. Two parents, 5 kids, 4 in-laws, 7 littles—together eating spaghetti, swapping nostalgia and practical jokes. If I could, I’d spend all of my moments with them.

As Audrey Hepburn said, “Paris is always a good idea.” Hitting 30 countries before 30 takes real commitment... and frequent pedicures. Blame it on my gypsy soul. Life is but a series of fleeting moments, and I don’t intend to waste a single one.

My great-grandparents immigrated to the States from Italy, so my love for all things wine is in my blood. I'm fascinated by the winemaking process—and seasonally, I help harvest at a local vineyard. Wine is living art in a bottle that unites souls.

The freedom I feel when I dive into this little hobby, passed down from my Nana, is such a gift. I feel like a child, so uninhibited to create. It’s a peaceful process, a time of worship, and a time to be still and reflect. Flowers are my favorite.

As much as I love to lace up my hiking boots or take a non-stop flight to the other side of the world, I equally love being home. I’m a secret introvert, and our little home is my sanctuary. It is a place of peace and morning light and coffee in bed.

I know, I know, but if you stepped through my front door, you’d hear music… any kind. I listen to it in the car, in the shower, waiting in line at Whole Foods. Truth be told, I’m a concert junkie—whether it’s 80s cover bands, a night at the symphony, 1950s rock ‘n’ roll, or classic country.
#7 BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
We believe in photographs worthy of not only a wall or album, but of a cedar chest… and the look on your great-granddaughter’s face when she discovers them in 100 years.
We believe in kisses on the forehead and holding hands even when you’re 80 and spontaneous trips to the place where you met. We believe that leaving a legacy is about so much more than just passing down favorite recipes or attending the same college as Dad.
It’s about leaving behind something that matters, something time-tested that will survive long after you’re gone.
We shoot because, for us, it’s not merely about the thrill of traveling or capturing a stunning backdrop but about giving you and your beloved a gift. We shoot for her—your great-granddaughter, who, when looking through your old cedar chest, recognizes the love and commitment and intentionality it took to build a life together from the ground up… and feels so grateful that you did. We shoot because we know what a gift it is to understand, from a very early age, that because of these photographs, a child can know who and where they came from. And to have the courage to follow in the footsteps of those who have walked the path before them.
And, ultimately, we shoot because we know we must. We know this is what we were created to do. For you, and for them.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

But my great-great grandchildren are going to know me." — Steve Farrar
